Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment by adding new affixes. They can also increase the base stats of the item or provide additional benefits. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory and access the kiln.

Upgrade components

To upgrade a weapon, armor or other item in the game, the player will need to select it and then click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. Leveling
The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some important variations from earlier versions.
