World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades are a way to boost the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade it can raise an item's Mark level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.
Each item comes with a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a specific amount.
Item Level
The value of an item's basic stats increases when it is upgraded. This is the sum of all of an item's leveled-up perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive, depending on who you hire and what you do. This is due to the number of perks that must be modified to upgrade an item.
The level of an item is a popular measure of power, and can be seen on all tooltips for items. It can also be used to limit how much PvP gear players are able to wear as PvP is restricted at a lower level. Players can see their average item level in their character sheet.
When deciding whether to purchase or sell gear players can look at the item level. It's an excellent indicator of an item's quality and how much damage it is able to deal. The level of the item can be used to evaluate items when looking at the inventory of a vendor.
The level of the item can be seen by pressing the ALT key on your PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. The item will be displayed with its full description, including the ilvl. It can also be located by hovering an item with the mouse cursor and typing /itemlevel in chat.
There are several theories about how the item level is determined. One theory is that the level is a numerical value derived from a formula that calculates the amount an item's stats are worth. It takes into account the fact that different perks have different values, and also that gems in sockets add to the overall value of the item. This process can result in a calculated value for the item's level, which is usually close to Blizzard's actual item level.
However, this is not the only factor which can affect an item's ilvl as the level of the area the item is dropped into can alter the value of its stats, for instance by adding a level to its crit rating or haste rating. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have more ilvl than those from lower-level instances.
Item Stats
Stats on an item are a significant element in what determines the value of an item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in different ways to encourage players to play with a variety of weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the most effective." The base stats of a weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat mods, which are themselves boosted by the player's level.
Upgrades to an item may increase its stats. The rarity of an item determines the cost of upgrading. For instance, a gray or white item can only be upgraded once, while an item with the rare tiers can be upgraded many times with higher prices.
Affixes are a different method to change an item's stats. They are stat boosts that can be added by the player to an item. Affixes can be used to give the item extra damage, add a special ability to the item (such as reviving the dead or cutting down cooldowns) or make the item unique by putting an exclusive name to the item.
All affixes can be re-rolled at the moment by selecting them in the upgrade window, and pressing the green button. This will cost a specific amount in gold and items. These can be used as upgrade gauges similar to other rerolling methods.
In addition to the possibility of rerolling affixes, players may also choose which stats they want to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The range of stats is determined by the item's level. However every item will have at least one stat within that range unless they are a unique item or a God Roll from a boss in a raid.
Another thing that could change is the possibility of upgrading equipment without having to reroll the attaches, or select which stats to boost. But as with view site… , this would have to be done on a per-item basis and the item compare interface would not display all the possible stats gained or lost at once.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player can increase the likelihood of locating items and the properties that are generated by loot, and the intensity of these properties. However, it doesn't directly affect damage or ability to upgrade items. It simply gives players the possibility to obtain better gear in earlier waves and is thus more beneficial in the initial game run than later ones because most players value higher weapon scaling and defenses over damage gains.
item upgrader can also boost the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall chance of upgrading that increase with each new level of item. It is also possible to be enhanced by using anti-materials, such as a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.
Weapons, shields, and armor can be made or spawn with the Luck property, which has an initial value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the material of the item) to grant a further +40 Luck, or to increase the Luck of an item, up to 140.
Certain items, like the weapon that is infused with hollow can also be outfitted to increase the damage of any ability that is able to deal damage by five percent. These items are available in the shop or crafted by using the appropriate ingredients.
Item Failure
Not all upgrades are successful. Cash shop items can be used to boost the success rate of an upgrade or to prevent players from losing their items if it does not work.
When you upgrade an item the success rate is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage indicates the probability of successfully upgrading the item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special materials. The probability of success can only be increased so much, and the chance that an upgrade will fail can't be greater than 100%..
The luck of an item can also influence the success of an upgrade. All items have an overall success rate of 25 percent and every item with Luck increases this chance by five percent.
The upgrade overlays of the item are displayed above items in the inventory. This may obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
